The Sr. Marketplace Excellence Manager, working closely with both the Account Management and Carrier Sales teams, owns the balancing of carrier supply against our customer demand. This role will build robust tools to align volume forecasts with current capacity to highlight coverage gaps, and drive accountability from their lateral partners (Carrier & Customer Sales) to procure additional capacity & volume respectively. This role is the ‘control tower’ that will own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, model scale plans in both existing and emerging markets, and set WoW shipment volumes by carrier cohort.
This position is at an individual contributor level.
What You'll Do
- Build - From the ground-up, build and execute a strategy to align supply and demand.
- Lead Cross-functionally - Partner with finance, product, operations, and carrier sales to build forecasting models, scheduling, and operational planning models.
- Program Management - Align activity across the NEXT trucking ecosystem to create a world-class driver experience.
- Create optimized and scalable business processes and define systems requirements to handle ongoing expansion, especially in new markets.
- Metrics & Experimentation - You will define and design metrics that will drive carrier success
- Margin integrity - You will analyze data to ensure capacity teams are maintaining forecasted margins
What You'll Need to Have
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Operations Management with a focus on transportation, logistics, supply chain management or freight technology.
- Bias for action, decisive decision making, and willingness to roll-up your sleeves to get the job done.
- Strong analytical skills – great at creating and analyzing data, defining business metrics, proficiency in, and some statistical tools.
- Excellent Communication Skills - Strong ability to clearly articulate complex problems to the executive management and individual contributor level.
- Multi-tasking skills in a fast-moving and changing environment
- Demonstrated experience creating systems and integration requirements, including Salesforce and enterprise billing systems
- Transportation/logistics/supply chain experience preferred
