Doodles is looking for a super talented Illustrator to join the team at our London stoodio! Working across web and social, the ideal candidate will naturally excel at colouring the world with joy, with a strong eye for detail and dynamic visual storytelling.
As a Illustrator at Doodles, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of Doodles' creative output. Working closely with our Creative Director and Art Director, you will support ongoing projects with a dynamic and engaging level of visual communication, not only adhering to the iconic Doodles style but also pushing the boundaries of creativity within the Doodles world.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Creative Director and Art Director to understand project requirements and translate concepts into visually appealing illustrations. This includes initial development, storyboarding, character + environment design.
Create high-quality, original illustrations that align with Doodles' unique style, shape language and brand identity.
Maintain organized working approach within the Doodles workflow.
Respond to in-house & client feedback in a professional & timely manner.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current design trends and techniques to continuously enhance the visual appeal of Doodles' projects.
Meet project deadlines and milestones, while maintaining the highest level of quality and creativity in your work.
Collaborate with animators & designers in NY and LDN, as well as with freelancers both onsite & remote.
YOU’LL FIND SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:
Proven experience as an Illustrator, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse character and background art. Demonstrated experience working with a variety of illustration styles and techniques both print and digital media.
2 + years of experience within an Animation studio or Design environment.
Proficiency in industry-standard illustration software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools.
Comfort using vector tools within an industry-standard illustration software. Excellent hand-drawing and sketching skills and the ability to adapt and work within the established Doodles style.
Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling. Knowledge of animation principles and the ability to create illustrations with animation in mind.
Familiarity with Graphic Design,UX/UI design principles and an understanding of how illustrations can enhance user experiences.
Knowledge of emerging trends and innovations in the illustration and design industry.
Authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
