What would I be doing day to day?

One of the great things about a scale-up is that every day is different and there is always an opportunity to get involved in something outside of your ‘BAU’! Here are some of the current engineering opportunities that are on our mind which all come under the theme of ‘improving our time to value’:

  • How do we complete our move from monolith to microservice? Where is the most value?
  • How do we evolve our team topology and domain ownership so we can focus on the growth areas and enable fast flow?
  • How do we improve the ‘engine’ - e.g. developer experience, cycle time, test environments?
  • What guidance, tools and best practice would allow our devs to focus on the hard problems not recreating the basics each time?
  • How do we improve our security, support and incidents processes so we can proactively address things before they become problems for our users?
  • Can we create clearer roles for individual contributor and management tracks to allow better planning and delivery?

OK, I’m interested. What experience do I need to have?

  • Delivered cultural change at all levels of an engineering function
  • Experience in a similar regulated industry is a significant advantage, it would be a bonus if that was within HealthTech or Digital Health.
  • Led a Series B or C enterprise SaaS scale up through a time of transformation, coaching and developing the Engineering leadership team to meet business objectives
  • Have led teams through complex architectural changes or migrations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to use evidence to identify priorities and strategic goals
  • Technical background and familiarity with distributed architectures
  • Ability to identify and articulate the technological and organisational needs now and for the future, representing these at exec level

We know from research and experience that candidates may not apply if they don’t think they meet 100% of our requirements.
