Team Description


We are seeking an experienced Product Marketing Strategy Director to join our team and lead our efforts to build and maintain strategic relationships with key industry analysts and influencers. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive global strategy for engaging with key industry analysts from top-tier firms such as Gartner, Forrester, and IDC while ensuring accurate positioning of Pendo’s solution leadership with boutique firms as well. Additionally, this role will include developing and executing on strategies to expand and maintain Pendo’s position on peer review sites like G2 and Gartner Peer Insights; owning and managing a strategic competitive win/loss program providing insights to executive leadership, product management, and sales; and collaborating with marketing to execute successful demand generation programs leveraging analyst reports and research.

Lastly, this individual will be responsible for additional strategic projects such as revamping our value realization process, working on ROI surveys and benchmark projects, and working directly with senior product leaders on key presentations at Pendomonium and other important events.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter and team player with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities. Your expertise, initiative, strategic approach, and resourcefulness will be fundamental in enhancing Pendo’s visibility, market leadership, and innovation across the market.

  • Evolve and execute Pendo's annual strategic analyst relations plan to inform and support product and market strategy and market positioning to drive pipeline and category leadership.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key industry analysts, ensuring Pendo is top-of-mind and accurately represented in the analyst community as well as favorably positioned in analyst evaluations.
  • Analyze insights from analyst interactions to guide strategic company decisions, staying ahead of market trends and competitive dynamics. Leverage these insights to develop tools that support the selling process.
  • Assess the strategic market and competitive landscape to identify product gaps, competitive threats, and strategic opportunities; provide executive leadership, product/engineering and sales management with input into strategic planning and product/roadmap planning.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in strategic projects like building value realization frameworks and creating ROI benchmarks and other ROI assets for use by sales and marketing.
  • Work with senior product leadership on keynote presentations for significant events like Pendomonium.
  • Develop and maintain programs on peer review sites, ensuring Pendo is favorably positioned.
  • Collaborate with marketing on demand generation and communications programs leveraging analyst reports and research, ROI benchmarks, and peer review site quotes and insights to further Pendo’s perception in the market.

Minimum Qualifications  


  • Over 7 years of experience in product marketing at B2B SaaS companies
  • Strategic thinker who can synthesize product and corporate strategy for an external analyst audience and similarly share third-party insights back with cross-functional internal audiences, including senior executives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage and influence analysts and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional teamwork and influencing skills, with the ability to work with others cross-functionally and at all levels within the organization
  • Experience developing project plans and driving cross-functional program management

Preferred Qualifications 


  • Strong program and relationship management capabilities.
  • Ability to independently handle multiple tasks and projects with precision.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 analyst firms such as Gartner, Forrester and IDC as well as top-rated boutique analyst firms
  • Experience with peer review sites like G2, TrustRadius, Gartner Peer Insights, and Gartner Digital Markets
  • Experience with setting up and running competitive win/loss analysis programs

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.The expected salary range for this role to be performed in: Raleigh, NC - USD $155,000 - $175,000Remote - USD $160,000 - $180,000San Francisco Bay Area, CA - USD $170,000 - USD $190,000New York City, NY - USD $170,000 - USD $190,000Colorado - USD $160,000 - $180,000Individual pay rate decisions, including offers made within and over the expected salary range, are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.#LI-SC1
