About the Role
FareHarbor is looking for a dynamic HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, skilled at coaching and advising managers through complex people issues. The HR Advisor will be a key member supporting our Amsterdam office, as well as supporting global People Team initiatives. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to prioritize and work across multiple tasks and longer-term projects, and be highly collaborative with stakeholders at all levels of our matrixed organization and HR colleagues at our parent organization.
What you’ll do here:
- Provide advice and manage employee relations matters including absence, performance management, disciplinary procedures and outcomes (escalate high-profile employee relations matters to the HRBP or appropriate team as needed)
- Create pragmatic business-orientated solutions to various people topics such as ensuring any organizational redesigns follows proper change management processes
- Support aspects of the employee lifecycle management such as onboarding and offboarding
- Support general HR administration tasks as well as our ticket management system in conjunction with the Booking.com HR Ops team and in collaboration with the HR Generalist for the region
- Collaborate with your HR colleagues across the globe, actively contribute to Global People projects, and adapt global initiatives or policies to your region
- Update, develop, and implement relevant HR policies and procedures
- Ensure data integrity across HR Documentation and systems
- Compile and analyze data for reports and special projects
- Conduct audits of HR activities to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement
- Present training sessions on specific employee lifecycle topics or HR systems
- Support workforce planning and organizational change initiatives
- Collaborate with Managers and People Team Leads to maximize performance in their teams, helping to build a positive culture in their teams and continuously striving to increase management capabilities
- Keep up to date with legal requirements for the Netherlands and provide suggestions for proactive and protective changes
- Review HR requests, making approval recommendations after considering local legislation and business implications
- Be a project leader to set up and appoint a Prevention Officer in the Netherlands to advise and inform management and employees on health & safety related issues
Competencies:
- HR Expertise, ethical practice, comprehensive and practical understanding of Dutch employment law best practices
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management
- Ability to apply creativity to critical thinking
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities, and follow through to completion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, open-office environment
- Exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Effective communication skills across different levels of the organization
- Tactical mindset
- Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing business solutions
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English, knowledge of Dutch language preferable
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in HR
- Knowledge of Dutch labor law required
- Proven success with conducting thorough employee investigations and organizational change management operations
- Ability to advise and coach leaders
- Ability to work in multiple computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, HRIS systems, and HR ticketing systems. Experience with Workday and Zendesk ideal, but not required.
