The Associate Director, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with SEC regulations. This key position will also be responsible for providing technical accounting expertise, including research and accounting for significant unusual transactions, assisting in internal controls functions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive financial transparency and compliance.
ResponsibilitiesSEC Reporting and Financial Disclosures:Lead the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports on Forms 10-Q and 10-K, respectively, in accordance with SEC regulationsCollaborate with legal, finance, and other departments to ensure accurate and complete disclosure in financial statements and footnotesStay current on SEC rules and regulations, implementing changes to reporting processes as necessaryDevelop and maintain robust documentation for significant accounting decisions and financial disclosuresEnsure the accuracy and completeness of financial disclosures in external financial statementsTechnical Accounting:Research, interpret, and apply accounting standards (GAAP) and SEC regulations to complex transactionsAssess the accounting implications of new or proposed business activities and provide guidance to ensure complianceLead the implementation of new accounting standards and updatesSOX Controls:Serve as a key liaison with external auditors during the annual audit and testing process, providing support and documentation related to internal controlsAssist in ongoing implementation and monitoring of the Company's SOX compliance programAssist in implementing best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Company’s internal controls, including reviewing documentation and reconciliations and proposing updates as neededOther:Contribute throughout the business on assorted financial and operational projects as neededRequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA designation strongly preferred7+ years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting and technical accounting in a public company; experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry requiredExperience with SEC reporting platform Workiva a plusStrong understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirementsExperience with complex accounting issues, including those related to revenue recognition and equity-based compensationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholdersAbility to work independently, with minimal supervisionSelf-motivated individual who can proactively identify potential challenges and take the initiative to address themAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, including the ability to successfully manage and adapt to shifting priorities, competing demands, and unexpected changesApply for this job
