WHO YOU ARE:
Software Engineers play a key role in the design, development/configuration, unit testing, installation, and ongoing maintenance of Zinnia’s software platforms. Zinnia Software Engineers work with stakeholders to develop solutions and/or products that fulfil the needs of Zinnia internal stakeholders and clients. Those solutions and/or products help Zinnia and Zinnia clients to be more efficient and provide better service to end customers. Software Engineers interact directly with project leaders, business stakeholders, and may periodically interact directly with Zinnia clients.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Work as part of a global, cross-functional team to develop innovative software for Zinnia stakeholders.
- Contribute to projects by creating well-designed, customized, testable, efficient code for company platforms.
- Assist our teams in providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, improvements, or custom enhancements to existing company platforms.
- Occasionally participate in on-call rotations and/or provide after-hours support.
- Collaborate with our global teams, internal stakeholders and customers.
- Act as a subject matter expert for junior team members.
- Assist or lead in defining the requirements for custom built software projects.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 5-8 years of software development and relevant insurance/Zinnia experience
- Knowledge and experience working in the insurance industry and company framework.
- Mastery of one or more company platforms or similar work experience.
- Ability to develop software in Java, J2EE, spring, Micro services
- Experience developing with Web technology – Angular 13 +, React, Typescript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, RxJS Operators, JavaScript
- Understanding of cross-browser support and single page application concepts
- Demonstrated expertise with software engineering tools (Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, etc) and methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, etc).
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office.
- Excellent work ethic. Ability to work and travel independently.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills.
- Highly effective communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional, global team.
- Awareness of advanced technical concepts (examples: design patterns, SOA, SaaS, SDLC, DDD).
BONUS POINTS:
- Relevant industry certifications (examples: MCSD, CSSLP) preferred.
Qualifications
- Should have BTech / BE / MCA / MTech / ME or equivalent qualification from reputed institutes
Preferred/Optional Skills:
- Object Oriented Programming (OOPS) and design patterns
- Programming using Java 8/J2EE
- Competence and comfort using multiple frameworks Spring, Spring Boot
- SOA/Microservice Architecture
- Knowledge and experience with REST
- Git, Maven, Docker
