This is a temporary, full-time, paid Internship through the Summer 2024. Candidates must be able to start either in February or March and commit through mid-August. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who are local to the DMV and can come into our office several days per week. 


Team & Position Details:


The Field Marketing Intern will primarily assist in the planning, execution, and administration of Virtru’s participation in various events. This role will involve significant administrative tasks to ensure smooth event execution, but also offers the opportunity for growth into strategic event planning and coordination with other areas of the marketing team to include, demand generation, branding and content, and PR. 

Administrative Support:


  • Assist in event logistics, including webinar set up, venue sourcing, catering, A/V requirements, etc.
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and sponsors to ensure smooth execution of events
  • Update and maintain confluence event calendar
  • Assist in on-site event setup and teardown (for local events, as needed) 
  • Handle shipping and tracking of event materials
  • Support the production of post-event reports and analysis

Strategic Support:


  • Assist in identifying opportunities for webinars, event sponsorship, speaking engagements, and other visibility efforts
  • Work with content and branding to support social media and email marketing campaigns to promote events
  • Contribute to the development and design of marketing materials and swag
  • Assist in analyzing the success of events in meeting marketing and sales objectives

Skills that will help you thrive in this role: 


  • Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
  • Experience in marketing or event planning
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once
  • Use of Jira and Confluence to manage tasking for events and webinars; use GoldCast for the webinar platform – experience not required, but a bonus if you have it! 
  • Willingness to travel as needed

As a Virtru Intern:


During the interview process, you will meet with your Manager and discuss role expectations, your interests, and your skills. As a Virtru intern, you will work closely with your team and assist with challenging tasks and responsibilities to help Virtru come closer to achieving our goals. And of course, if you would like to learn more about something, just ask. During the summer Internship Cohort, you will be managed by your internship coordinator and HR advocate, Bella. Organized events, such as games nights, career workshops, and speaker series sessions are planned and executed specifically for interns. Events to note:

  • First week of Onboarding, just like a full-time employee!
  • Weekly sessions with your HR advocate, 1:1 and in a group setting
  • Formal feedback sessions
  • 1:1 session with Steering/Executive Leader
  • Opportunity for in-office visit/mentorship 

As an important team member of Virtru, you will be included in company-wide meetings and events, including one-on-one sessions with your department’s executive leader (giving you a peek as to what it’s like working with us full-time)!. You will gain real-world, hands-on learning and contribute to critical elements of an enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) business. You will be joining a highly collaborative company, with the opportunity to reach out to anyone for questions, with a summer mentor and HR advocate to assist you with internal networking!This internship is for learners ready to work in a connected hybrid environment.

While we are not a strict 9-5 work environment, you will be responsible for timely responses in Slack, email, and meeting attendance.
