Job Description
The successful candidate will provide world-class pharmacy services and support to our patients by working closely with our Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacists and Pharmacy team to prepare, fill and dispense prescriptions in compliance with federal and provincial regulations. Moreover, the Weekend PT Pharmacist will engage in our patient-focused care model by working shifts scheduled by the Pharmacy Manager in advance to achieve excellence in areas of all professional clinical services, customer satisfaction and daily pharmacy operations.
Weekend shift:
In-person: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday
Responsibilities
Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures of the company
Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently and safely using the established workflow model
The ability to work scheduled shifts with short notice periods would be an asset.
Work closely with our Pharmacy technicians to process physician’s orders and communicate all processing requirements where applicable
Provide high-standard patient counselling for new therapy and ensure patient engagement and understanding
Provide ongoing medical consultations to patients as it relates to their prescriptions including monitoring medication adherence
Support the administration of patient profiles, medical records and prescription medication history
Support the Staff Pharmacists and Pharmacy Manager with ad-hoc duties as required
Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations stipulated by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (“NAPRA”) and Ontario College of Pharmacists (“OCP”)
Requirements
Part A licensing from the Ontario College of Pharmacists; Membership in good standing with the provincial College of Pharmacists.
3+ years of pharmacy experience
Remarkable attention to detail as it relates to medication preparation and labelling, inventory management, pharmacy documentation and quality control
Self-directed and able to work independently and in a team environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Respect for Health & Safety procedures and protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for colleagues
Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Advance skills in Pharmacy Management Software and IT
Fluent in English; French is an asset.
