Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and enhancement of the syncing engine systems that are integral to our customers and other engineering teams.- Apply your knowledge of distributed systems, performance optimization, and troubleshooting to drive meaningful improvements in our ability to manage large volumes of customer data.- Act as both a technical leader, guiding the team with your expertise, and a people manager, fostering the growth and development of team members.- Spearhead the team in defining and executing roadmaps for significant features and products necessary to drive the business forward.- Uphold a high technical standard while making practical trade-offs to ensure success.- Improve the team's execution pace through a combination of leadership and technical expertise.- Take responsibility for team growth, including identifying needs, establishing candidate evaluation criteria, and recruiting high-impact team members.- Elevate the team's focus on reliability, reducing incidents, proactively addressing issues, and implementing strong incident management practices.- Foster the growth and engagement of team members, ensuring high levels of motivation and productivity.
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
- A minimum of 1 year of management experience.- Proven track record of managing a team of at least 5 individuals.- Experience in hiring for a team, especially in challenging circumstances.- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.- Strong focus on efficient execution.- History of setting roadmaps and developing software with significant business and company impact.- Extensive background in backend server development, particularly in high-scale environments, complex business domains, distributed systems, and critical reliability and correctness requirements.- A knack for simplicity and maintainability, with the ability to recognize and mitigate complexity.- An ownership mentality, with a commitment to the team's success.- Proficiency in strategic thinking, with a high aptitude for breaking down complex problems and finding effective solutions.- Experience working in a high-growth, performance-driven technology environment, comfortable with feedback, prioritization, and overcoming challenges.- (If applicable) Experience managing individual contributors with more experience or seniority.- Expertise in the infrastructure domain.
