We are hiring a Director of Finance & Operations who will lead the finance, accounting, deal execution, investor reporting and back office functions of the firm. This is a rare opportunity to work at a rapidly growing and very lean investment firm, building and scaling the back office as the firm continues to raise new funds and add new investment products to the platform.
Responsibilities
As a young firm, WndrCo operates much like a startup and each team member has a wide scope of responsibilities and contributions. The primary responsibilities for this role are:
Fund Operations: Oversee the preparation of quarterly financial statements, waterfalls and capital account statements; as well as the quarterly distribution of all investor reporting. Work with the investment team and portfolio companies to prepare and compile the quarterly valuations in accordance with the valuation policies, and prepare the associated performance reporting. WndrCo outsources nearly all accounting work to third party firms, including a fund administrator and an accounting firm for the GP entities and management company.
Cash Management and Treasury: Manage bank relationships, capital calls, fund credit facilities and lines of credit; develop fund and management company cash flow forecasting and firm budgets.
Audit and Tax: Manage the annual audit and tax process, fostering a close working relationship with the external audit firm to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Deal Execution: Term sheet preparation and execution in select cases, working with investment team and legal counsel on deal documents; confirming and approving wires at deal close; maintaining records of investments in internal CRM.
Firm Operations: Manage HR, benefits, payroll, accounts payable, expense reports.
Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings; regularly assess financial risks; develop and implement internal controls, policies and procedures for all finance related matters.
Qualifications
4+ years of public accounting experience or equivalent
Previous private equity/venture capital experience and knowledge of partnership and fund accounting
Meticulously organized and able to drive multiple workstreams in parallel without dropping balls
Strong communicator and collaborative team player
Bachelor's Degree required (Finance/Accounting/Economics concentration preferred), CPA strongly preferred

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office 3 days per week in the firm’s Redwood City office
