Pull Systems helps electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers, suppliers and operators manage their fleets with increasing levels of automation. Our software platform is underpinned by a library of machine learning models that predict battery behavior using a world class database of 3 years of operating history from nearly 100k vehicles. With Pull Systems, our manufacturer customers optimize costs (e.g., by predicting battery maintenance), boost aftersales revenues (e.g., by offering warranty extension products) and improve consumer experiences (e.g., by automating charging workflows).Pull Systems is well-funded by some of the best-known investors in mobility, spun out of the Up Labs incubator in 2023 as the flagship company formed in partnership with Porsche.Software Engineering at Pull Systems We are building a modern web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) tool and API for our EV manufacturing customers.

Our software team is lean, agile, and high-performing, consisting of a small number of full-time engineers on the West Coast of the US augmented with overseas contractors. We work with modern tools and frameworks, and take pride in our use of process best practices. We believe that the best feature designs emerge from a cross-functional collaboration of product management and designers with engineers. Silo boundaries do not apply.As a small team, everyone on our team shares significant ownership responsibilities over projects and deliverables, with significant personal agency and autonomy at every level.

In the role of Software Engineer, User Experience, you can expect:* Hands-on direct coding tasks covering all feature areas of the web-based frontend.* Participation, along with product managers and designers, in the functional design of all Pull Systems features. * Working on autonomous cross-functional project teams owning projects, with responsibility for technology architecture decisions, planning, implementation, delivery, support of customers, and shaping follow-up iterations.* Participation in the frontend guild, which is chartered with responsibility for long-term stewardship of the frontend codebase.* Recruiting like-minded teammates with technical screens and interviews.RequirementsTo qualify for this role, you must bring:* At least 4 years of experience in a professional web frontend software development role on a high-performing team.* Best-in-industry coding skills and experience in Javascript, Typescript, or an equivalent modern language.* Passion for and proven skills building beautiful, delightful and supremely usable experiences.* Great all-purpose engineering skills and experience.

Proven ability to own your individual contributions and drive them to delivery end-to-end, whatever that requires. Demonstrated mastery of frontend design and architecture that has proven reliable and maintainable.* An ability to communicate complexity to an audience of any skillset.Additional awesomenessYou can expect to be especially well-matched to the role if you bring any of these additional qualities:* Direct experience with Data Science, Statistics, AI, Machine Learning, and ML Ops in a substantial professional or academic environment.* You can demonstrate that you know not just how to use a tool or framework, but how it works.* You have attention to detail that is consistently among the top 10% of the teams you work on.* Professional experience with companies in the mobility sector.* Experience in and passion for building things from scratch with small teams.This position is hybrid, with some routine travel to the Pull Systems offices in the SF Bay Area or LA expected on a monthly basis.
