Newsela is seeking to hire a Contractor based out of Latin America for Senior-Level Data Warehouse and Analytics Services.
Scope of Services
- This Contractor will develop a thorough understanding of the various data sources and key business processes to propose, design, and build the right data models.
- Maintain and simplify existing data models as needed while working in parallel to set up or move data modeling to new analytics engineering platform using tools like Dbt.
- Collaborate to build or modify data models to quickly satisfy business requirements.
- Work to continuously iterate and improve the analytics engineering process.
- Maintain data documentation and definitions to make models easy for consumption both within the team and across the organization.
- This role will be a long-term contract.
Skills / Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in data modeling.
- You have a strong working knowledge of SQL.
- You have worked with a modern cloud-native data stack in a fast-paced environment.
- You are comfortable working with and optimizing existing models.
- You are obsessed with identifying, proposing, and replacing existing models with more performant and efficient models as needed.
- You are detail-oriented and take pride in the quality of your work.
- You have a working knowledge of source control systems like GitHub.
- Experience with Data Build Tool (Dbt) is a plus
- Experience with Snowflake / BigQuery is a plus
- Experience with BI tools like Looker is a plus
