We are a nimble, fast-paced, innovative team with the opportunity to make an outsized impact on the business and the industry.We are looking for a Product Manager at a Senior or Principal level who understands the open source community and knows what a great developer experience looks like.

You will play a pivotal role in driving the development, adoption, and success of our open source projects, as well as improve the developer experience of both the OSS and paid product offerings of Liquibase. If you have a passion for open source technologies, empowering developers and have a strong background in product management and developer tooling, we want to hear from you. 

Responsibilities: 


  • Product Strategy: Develop and execute strategic plans for the development and maintenance of open source projects, aligning them with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Product Roadmap: Define and prioritize features and enhancements based on user feedback, market trends, and community contributions. Maintain a clear and up-to-date product roadmap.
  • Community Engagement: Foster a vibrant and inclusive community around Liquibase. Actively engage with contributors, users, and stakeholders to gather feedback, address issues, and build strong relationships.
  • Developer Advocacy: Serve as a passionate advocate for developers. Understand their needs, pain points, and aspirations, and champion initiatives that enhance their experience.
  • Release Management: Coordinate the release process for new versions of our open source projects, ensuring quality and reliability. Work closely with development teams to define release schedules and manage dependencies.
  • Advocacy and Evangelism: Serve as an advocate for the Liquibase open source projects both internally and externally. Participate in conferences, meetups, and other events to promote Liquibase and engage with the broader open source community.

Must Haves:


  • Ability to work in Austin or remotely in the United States or Canada
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; OR relevant experience – aptitude and experience trump. 
  • 5+ years in open source and/or product management experience
  • Strong user orientation and technical sense, with deep understanding of developer workflow
  • A habit of being user-centric and comfortable meeting with users throughout the product process; metrics-driven; and making data-driven decisions through market research, user interviews, competitive analysis, and experimentation
  • Can easily transition from high-level strategy to the finest details, and balance business needs with user needs to ship quality products that users love
  • Commit to be available starting at 8:30 AM CST when needed to collaborate with our engineering team in Eastern Europe

  • Growth PM, DevX PM, or open source product experience
  • Product experience in data engineering / data science
  • Experience with structured, unstructured, and object data technologies
