What will you do:


The Director of Hospitality Research will be responsible for driving the market research function within Lighthouse, and will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. The ideal candidate has experience in leading research strategy, conducting quantitative analysis, and effectively communicating findings through written research reports, ebooks, and industry presentations. This global role balances quantitative research, creative thinking, and enthusiasm for the dynamic hospitality industry.At Lighthouse, we have industry-leading data sets for the global hotel and short-term rental sectors.

The ideal candidate is inquisitive, data-driven, and passionate about the opportunity to dive into the data and create meaningful insights that will impact the broader hospitality industry. 

Where you will have impact:


  • Conduct in-depth research on the global hotel and short-term rental industries, identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges
  • Craft detailed and insightful industry research reports to guide strategic decision-making for our customers, partners, and the broader hospitality sector
  • Present research findings at industry conferences, customer events, webinars, and internal sessions, effectively communicating complex data in an understandable manner
  • Collaborate with internal content, digital, and event marketing teams to apply research findings to various marketing activities and produce data-driven thought leadership content
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and maintain a strong network within the hospitality sector
  • Lead the research function within Lighthouse, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth

Who you are:


  • 10+ years of total work experience
  • 5+ years of research and/or hospitality industry analyst experience
  • Expertise data analysis, economic forecasting, and quantitative research is required
  • Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software
  • A passion for the hospitality sector with a solid understanding of the global hotel industry and the short-term rental industry
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
  • Proven experience in report writing and presenting research findings
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing cross-functional projects
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • A degree in Economics, Finance, or Mathematics/Statistics
  • Consulting, investment banking, or macroeconomic analysis experience
  • Ability to travel up to 5% - 10% for conferences and meetings

The annual base salary for this role ranges up to $145,000-$175,000 plus a variable bonus. We benchmark our salary ranges for new team members in relation to the role, level, and role location; however, we consider a multitude of factors, to include relevant experience, skills, and education/training, to determine compensation within the identified range.
