💻 Role
The Discovery team at Whatnot is responsible for building the best user experience for finding and engaging with the most relevant content on the platform: shows, products and sellers in the community. To achieve our goals, we are passionate about understanding, building and maintaining a healthy ecosystem, where buyers find engaging content and sellers thrive with their business. We focus on a wide variety of problems: feeds, taxonomy, browse experience, search and recommendations algorithms, as well as content understanding.
- Drive product roadmaps, strategy and execution across Feed, Search, Browse, and other related product areas.
- Define product requirements & work with engineering, design and the broader team to bring our roadmap to market at lightning speed.
- Clearly communicate roadmap, progress, and insights to key teams and stakeholders.
- Do whatever it takes to ensure the engineering team is operating effectively, unblock them and make sure they can move at a rapid pace.
- Take ownership of any major blocker to the company’s success.
- Drive strategic initiatives across the company as needed.

- Strong cross-functional competencies to effectively collaborate with design, engineering, marketing, and other partners.
- Experience working with machine learning subject matter experts to create delightful products for users.
- Startup experience at a growth stage company.
- Demonstrated bias for action in an fluid work environment.
- Strong product intuition, design sense, and the ability to inform decisions around technical architecture.
- Proven track record of using data, user feedback and intuition to drive effective product decisions.
- Knowledge that product decisions don't end and begin with data and A/B tests.
💰Compensation
For US-based applicants:$205,000/year to $235,000/year + benefits + stock optionsThe salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including, level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise. This range is only inclusive of base salary, not benefits (more details below) or equity in the form of stock options.
