SoundHound AI believes every person should be able to interact naturally with the products around them–by simply talking. With a global reach spanning two dozen languages, we build Voice AI products with conversational intelligence for cars, restaurant ordering, and more, allowing our customers to extend their brand in new and meaningful ways.
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to collaborate directly with our enterprise merchant customers. You are crucial to the success of SoundHound's automated AI implementation across consumer ordering channels and employee support products. In a pre-sales motion, along with members of the leadership team, you will qualify, advise, and guide prospects through solution recommendations that solve key business problems. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Account Management to support each merchant’s needs and facilitate rapid buying cycles, furthering the scale of our Restaurants-based portfolio.
You will be instrumental in bringing our products to market, ultimately responsible for understanding and responding to our customers’ pre-sales needs, accelerating the time to sign and onboard new customers, and scaling the function long-term.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver an exceptional pre-sales customer experience
- Provide technical expertise in the pre-sales process, outlining the value proposition, clarifying technical requirements, and answering product-related questions
- Demonstrate how the SoundHound business products can provide solutions to customers’ business needs and deliver value, including (but not limited to) demos, requirements scoping, and proof of concepts
- Some travel required for demos, conferences, or customer site visits, as needed
- Create and maintain documentation, diagrams, guides, and FAQs related to common questions and requirements discovered during the pre-sales process
- Develop and nurture strong customer relationships during the evaluation and purchasing process
- Foster customer advocacy and represent the voice of the customer with internal teams, gathering and relaying customer feedback and identifying themes across customers to incorporate into product planning
- Understand the holistic product roadmap to dictate accurate timeline quoting and planning for required development work
- Collaborate closely with the Sales, Product, Engineering, and Account Management teams
We would love to hear from you if:
- You have 4+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer (or similar) role, managing relationships with enterprise-level organizations, preferably working with a technical and customizable product
- You are very familiar with POS systems, payment platforms, and other onsite restaurant technology
- You have a solid track record of delivering and scaling an exceptional pre-sales customer experience
- You possess exceptional presentation and communication skills, particularly when engaging with executives and leaders
- You have a humble attitude, an eagerness to help others, and a desire to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to make both your team and our customers succeed
- You operate seamlessly in a go-to-market phase of business that is rich with ambiguity and change
- You understand how to juggle multiple competing projects at once and deliver results in rapid fashion
- You have a passion for AI products that change how businesses communicate and interact with their loyal customers
