Department of Defense and U.S. allies. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Editor at Shield AI, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and precision of technical documentation related to our military drone technology. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in editing technical content, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of Shield AI product operation and technical specifications.
What You'll Do:
- Edit and Proofread Technical Documentation: Review and edit technical documents, including user manuals, system specifications, engineering reports, and other related materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards.
- Maintain Consistency: Ensure consistency in language, style, and formatting across all technical documentation to maintain a unified and professional presentation.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs): Work closely with engineering and development teams to gather information and create technical content, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Understand Military Terminology: Demonstrate a strong understanding of military terminology, specifications, and standards to accurately convey technical information in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to identify and address any errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies in technical documents.
- Document Version Control: Implement and maintain version control systems for technical documents, ensuring that all revisions are accurately tracked and documented.
- Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of developments in military drone technology, defense industry standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure that documentation remains up-to-date and compliant.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree (English, Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Editor, preferably in a defense or aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of military terminology, specifications, and standards.
- Familiarity with foundational Web application technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
- Excellent editing and proofreading skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with documentation tools and software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement, demonstrate initiative to propose and implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall project success
- You are organized and methodical.
- You have a demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aviation industry.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
