We are currently looking for two Account Executives. One to cover Northern California and one to cover Southern California


Wonderschool is leveraging technology to support child care providers in homes, as well as those within government and non-profit sectors across Northern and Southern California. Our innovative solutions enable providers to enhance quality and manage their operations efficiently, while also offering parents vital childcare options through an accessible marketplace. We are on the lookout for Northern California-based and Southern California-based Account Executives who are driven to advance our mission by expanding our government partnership pipeline and revenue.

This position demands a strong ability to navigate the intricacies of business-to-government sales and foster impactful relationships, leveraging adept sales and customer relationship capabilities.

What you’ll do:


  • Oversee the complete sales cycle in Northern California and or Southern California, often spanning 12+ months from initial engagement to closure.
  • Engage with members of the state legislature, legislative staff, the governor’s office, and key figures within the administration, including leaders from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Economic Development, specific to Northern and Southern California.
  • Understand and act on the legislative, budgetary, and electoral dynamics within Northern and or Southern California to devise and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Develop customized sales materials, pitches, presentations, and proposals, adapting these to suit the needs of potential partners in the region.
  • Liaise internally to prepare teams for forthcoming implementations, contribute to product roadmap discussions, and ensure procurement materials and requirements are aligned.

Important Skills:


  • Strategic insight into government programming, policy, legislation, and procurement specific to Northern and or Southern California.
  • A comprehensive grasp of the political and childcare landscape in Northern and or Southern California.
  • Proficiency in articulating Wonderschool’s value proposition in alignment with political objectives.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, delivering outcomes through established strategies while innovating as necessary.
  • Expertise in building professional relationships with government officials and executive leaders in Northern and or Southern California.
  • Proven record of meeting or surpassing sales targets.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly.
  • Experience with CRM management and updates.
  • Autonomous territory management with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.

Ideal Candidates will have:


  • A background in government policy or business-to-government (B2G) sales within Northern and or Southern California.
  • Experience in government roles related to legislation, program administration, etc.
  • (Optionally) Experience in public policy and/or political advocacy.
  • A passion for the startup environment.
  • Knowledge of government procurement methods.
  • Experience with complex sales processes and implementations.

What We Offer:


  • The expected base salary range for this Northern California-based and or Southern California-based role is $135,000, with an additional 100%-150% in commission and bonuses. Compensation and OTE may vary based on factors such as skillset, experience, and location within Northern and or Southern California.
