The new combined national footprint will serve more than 250,000 properties, facilitate approximately 2.5 million repair and maintenance orders, and complete nearly 20,000 renovation and turn projects per year.  Lessen has quickly evolved from exciting startup to valued partner, delivering scalable and turnkey property services to our clients.
The director of product marketingis responsible forworking with our technology and product management teams to orchestrateLessen’stechnology product go-to-market plans, including our One by Lessen technology, our mobile applications, vendor marketplace, vendor tools, and consumer offerings. This role requires an entrepreneurial and hands-on approach, and an ability to closely collaborate in a matrixed environment with our commercial and residential marketing leaders. The director of product marketingwill work closely with our technology team to support the overall growth of Lessen’s services and SaaS business as it applies to our residential and commercial real estate business, as well as how it applies to our vendor community.    As the primary interface between our technology team and our commercial and residential marketing teams, the ability to quickly develop subject matter expertise in all Lessen technology and products is an important requirement, as is supporting the development of deliverables ranging from collateral and presentations to messaging support for promotion, product related content to support campaigns, collateral, events, and thought leadership. Strong project and program management skills are essential, as is a proven track record managing product marketing roadmaps and supporting market development activities and product launch activities for SaaS and technology-enabled service offerings.  

What You'll Do:


  • Collaborate closely with Lessen’s technology/product management teams to define product roadmap and launch plans and programs to drive the adoption of Lessen technology.  
  • Maintain a product marketing calendar/roadmap of new & recurring products and enhancements, and what supporting marketing activities are planned 
  • Work with all stakeholders to define and maintain product-related messaging for Lessen’s technology.  
  • Collaborate closely with Lessen’s commercial and residential marketing directors to manage all marketing deliverables associated with product launch 
  • Support Lessen’s commercial and residential marketing leaders to coordinate how Lessen’s technology is positioned, messaged, communicated, and sold. 
  • Develop product-related content that supports client acquisition, retention, and growth and that supports the overall goals of Lessen’s commercial and residential business. 
  • Work closely with our design services team to ensure that our products and technology present a consistent brand image. 
  • Develop product/technology subject matter expertise for all Lessen products, and act as a product/technology subject matter expert to our marketing team. 
  • Oversee multiple marketing projects, executing deliverables on time, with quality, and on budget, providing input and execution advice on strategies that optimize messaging, and that deliver on campaign/project performance.  
  • Support public relations and content marketing activities with content that supports branding and thought leadership. 
  • Limited travel is expected, primarily to support marketing events, and to participate in team meetings at our Chicago or Scottsdale AZ offices. 

Role Specific Skills:


  • Familiarity with commercial or residential real estate property management technology, property maintenance technologies, or vendor management technologies. 
  • Experience defining programs and launching productized services and SaaS products 
  • Experience developing winning product presentations and hands-on product demonstrations  
  • Strong customer/partner presentation skills 
  • Presentation development and written communications via advanced PPT, Word, and Excel 
  • Experience facilitating planning and product launch activities across multiple organizations 
  • An overall understanding of how enterprise software is marketed successfully, including SaaS products and both custom and tailored software solutions.  
  • Experience utilizing a workflow and project management tool (e.g. Wrike, Asana, Monday, Trello,) 
  • Ability to manage multiple details, deadlines, and demands under pressure 
  • Self-starter who goes the extra mile and brings fresh, exciting ideas to the table 
  • Highly collaborative, positive, and energetic 

You Should Have:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field required. 
  • 10-12 years of progressive marketing/product marketing or product management experience, including hands-on experience directly supporting sales teams in sales and customer engagements 
  • Proven track record of executing effective product marketing programs for B2B companies 

Other Relevant Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of B2B, large-ticket sales cycles   
  • A marketer who loves using technology to change the world, but who is skilled at presenting those details at the proper level of abstraction to differing audiences. 
  • A general understanding of agile processes, and agile product development environments
