The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern participates with the analysis, budgeting, and planning to support the business decisions and financial reporting. This position collaborates closely with other teams to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of consolidated reporting, adherence to company budgets and achievement of company goals. The Financial Planning and Analysis Intern provides recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
Internship Details:
- Hybrid internship (in-office attendance at our downtown Austin office location on 3-4 days each week)

What you’ll be doing:
- Financial Planning Reporting and Presentation:
- Analyze, and create reports on financial forecasts, modeling, budgeting, and planning initiatives, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages and budget to actual analysis
- Provide support to complete plans, including financial modeling, scenario planning, valuation, and monitoring of performance
- Collaborates closely with the accounting team and cross-functional teams to support the monthly close process to meet the monthly close timeline while adhering to internal controls
- Interpret financial metrics and share insights to support decision-making to the business
- Integrate data from a variety of sources using analytical tools, such as Adaptive, NetSuite, and Tableau to increase productivity and accuracy
- Business Partnering:
- Partner closely with Human Resources and business leaders to align on headcount processes, approvals, and financial impacts to the business unit and the organization
- Provide support to business/department leaders to increase transparency around key financial results and assumptions around budgets and forecasting
- Partner with the business to understand functional, department and team goals/priorities and the impact to financial planning models, tools, and recommendations
- Interpret financial budget to review and approve incoming headcount and purchase requests
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Senior undergrad or graduate student with a future bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar field or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to complete analysis and leverage data in decision-making
- Knowledge of fundamentals of accounting
- Strong knowledge of a three-statement reporting process
- Financial modeling and analytical skills
- Experience with Microsoft and G-Suite products namely Excel (or Google Sheets) and Powerpoint (or Google Slides)
- Strong verbal and written skills
