About This Role


We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist who should have both management and data expertise to lead a team of data scientists across SaaS markets. This person will be in charge of managing the central data science team who are focused to disrupt the telco industry. This person will be an integral part of all new Data & AI initiatives that will be taken as part of the global company and responsibilities will be conceptualizing, scoping, and delivering complex deep analytics projects. This person will work closely with Senior Leadership and business teams to disrupt the telco industry.

The person will be responsible for bringing all the working standards on the AI stream to create the center of excellence.

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for defining and managing analytics strategies across all the market.
  • Enhance our machine learning software with the latest machine learning algorithms.
  • Provide expertise on design and implement quantitative analytical frameworks, including scalable predictive models, customer segmentation and propensity models that improve business performance and customer engagement to support the SaaS.
  • Oversees the central data science team and guide Senior/Junior Data Scientist to analyze structured and unstructured data and build machine learning and statistical modeling over our petabytes of data.
  • Understand current trends of analytical tools/data science field and technologies to provide guidance/support on company data science product vision.
  • Collaborate with technical teams/non-technical teams and justify solutions with the gathered data which helps to boost the business.
  • Interact with the different stakeholders to understand all critical business problems and provide solutions with data and machine learning algorithms.
  • Support the team to materialize the business requirement to insightful predictive/machine learning models.
  • Institute and adopt best practices in data science, platforms, and approaches.
  • Upskill data team on research, design, analyze and to inspect data to derive insights.

Essentials:


  • PhD or MS degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Ability to lead teams in agile environments, with multiple stakeholders involved.
  • 13+ years hands-on experience in data science/machine learning field
  • Experience translating math/statistical models into efficient code.
  • Expert in developing and implementing a full range of analytical techniques to address commercial challenges.
  • Strong business understanding and experience in multiple domains.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced engineering team.
  • Proficient and experienced in scripting languages and have rapid prototyping skills such as Python, MS SQL, R, MS Excel, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Framework ecosystems and languages, such as R/Python ML Libs, Keras, TensorFlow, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from raw data.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex data and effectively work with technical and non-technical teams

Preferred:


  • Proactively solving problems through providing great machine learning models
  • Taking ownership and drive to build data science products.
  • Should have a successful track record on building great data science / machine learning products.
  • Coach and mentor an energetic team to build and maintain machine learning models and data science products.
