Governance and Awareness Coordinator
to enhance our organization's security posture, ensure effective communication, and promote a culture of security awareness and compliance. Lightspeed is a dynamic and innovative organization committed to maintaining the highest standards of security, governance, and risk management.Â
What you'll be doing:Â
- Coordinating security policy development including:
- Â Identifying and addressing policy gaps.
- Connect Security with other organisational units, ensuring bi-directional communication of security policies and practices.
- Support risk assessments and contribute to governance and risk mitigation strategies.
- Assess the effectiveness of security initiatives in promoting awareness and engagement, preparing reports for senior management on progress, successes, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
- Craft clear and concise messages tailored to various audiences, ensuring security information is easily understandable, accessible, and engaging through newsletters, intranet, and our other communication channels.
- Serve as a liaison between the security team and other organisational units, Track progress, and ensuring effective communication of security policies and practices and managing stakeholders' expectations.
- Ensure alignment of security communication and awareness campaigns with the organisation's security objectives and standards.
- Monitor and refine a communication practice around security policies and support for sales, account management, and other key partners/departments.
- Organize team-wide town hall meetings, steering committees, and other communication channels, strengthening communication within the team and the broader organisation to encourage feedback and collaborative security practices.
What you need to bring:Â
- Experience providing educational sessions to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, PCI, ISO/IEC 27001)
- Ability to summarise task and initiative progress and identify challenges.Â
Even Better if you have:Â
- Strong bias towards accountability and continuous improvement.Â
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Have an interest in security and growing your career.
- Familiarity with security technologies and best practices, including cybersecurity defences, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.
