QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a two-year college level curriculum in Physical Therapy Association accredited/ approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Current and valid PTA license
- Valid TX Driver’s license and safe driving record

Previous school-based experience is a plus; and candidates must hold a valid PTA - Physical Therapy Assistant license.

- Coordinates and collaborates with the Physical Therapist to ensure integration of the therapeutic program in the plan of care.
- Participates in conferences to coordinate students' plans for care.
- Personal commitment to driving positive outcomes for students
- Collaborative minded professional with strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work and build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and school administrators
- Experience working in schools or with children is beneficial, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide appropriate, individualized instruction to each student on the caseload
- Observe, record, and report each students reaction to treatment and any changes in their condition or treatment
- Develop schedules that meet the goals of each student
- Provide consultation and assistance to staff as to skills to implement in the classroom
- Establish open, frequent communication with parents, and all related service staff
- Establish and maintain a positive atmosphere in working with staff in order that this atmosphere will be carried over for the student
- Direct instructional services
- Consultation with school staff or other AIM staff members.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job.
- Regular District-wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned; frequent standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, and moderate carrying.
- May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchairs or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
- Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
- Strong family engagement and communication
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
