The company was founded in 2018 by Samuel Reeves, who spent the previous decade making landmine clearance safer through robotics. During this time, Reeves realized that secure communications – considered core infrastructure elsewhere in technology – didn’t exist for robots in fields like construction, agriculture, warehousing, or elsewhere. FORT was founded to create a first-of-its-kind Robotics Control Platform (RCP) to empower companies with unique tools to ensure robots cause no harm.FORT Robotics has an exciting opportunity for a DevOps Engineer to be a key member.

The DevOps Engineer is an essential part of the small and dynamic team that develops, maintains, and tests FORT Robotics' various firmware components, mobile applications, and cloud infrastructure. You take pride in your work. You are passionate about writing clear, concise code and documentation and enjoy working in a close-knit team of developers and internal stakeholders.

This position will start as a 3-month contract to hire.


Responsibilities


  • Promote a strong DevOps culture, constantly working to reduce toil and improve the SDLC.
  • Take ownership, architect, manage, and develop pipelines and processes for continuous integration and deployment in Azure and AWS-based environments
  • Build and support functions for automated testing.
  • Regular management and assessment of pipelines, planning and execution of required maintenance activities to continuously increase features, improve speed, efficiency, and scalability, and reduce costs
  • Be involved in the day-to-day configuration management and management of various development environments
  • Manage the build and packaging of product releases
  • Help development teams design new features and solutions from the code to the infrastructure level.
  • Integrate with CI tools for automated unit and integration testing
  • Support cross-functional coordination and development of software components in the field
  • Collaborate with project management to meet release requirements
  • Support triage of issues found during the release lifecycle
  • Document the software release lifecycle

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps environment support and development
  • CI/CD Tools – Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, and GitLab are a plus
  • IaaC Tools – Strong understanding of Terraform, a basic knowledge of Chef, Ansible, and Pulumi experience is a plus
  • Static Analysis Tools – SonarCloud/SonarQubePackage
  • Management Tools – Nuget, Jfrog Artifactory
  • Linux Expertise
  • Programming - Basic Python, C#, and PowerShell knowledge
  • Frameworks – Basic understanding of .NET 6, ASP.NET 6, EF Core, and Angular
  • Source control – Strong understanding of modern SDLC workflows utilizing Bitbucket or comparable source control platform
  • Proven experience with the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines
  • Basic cloud computing knowledge or experience with AWS knowledge or certification/Azure knowledge or certification
  • Docker, Podman, and other container-based technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
  • Proven ability to understand and consume REST APIs, as well as the modern authentication/authorization practices required to utilize these API
