Description
Under general supervision, the DOT Delivery Driver loads the truck and delivers chemicals to the customer location in a safe manner following all laws, company policies, and customer policies. This position will ensure that the truck is in good working order by completing the pre-trip inspection, maintaining up to date logs and timesheets, as well as ensuring the shipping documents and all vehicle documents are current within the delivery truck.
- Delivers totes and drums of hazardous and nonhazardous materials from warehouse to customer locations
- Pump chemistry from totes on truck into chemical makeup tanks on customer locations
- May perform minor maintenance to truck and will keep truck clean and washed
- Driver is responsible for forklift operations/ensuring that the load is secured and ensuring that the bills of lading and shipping documents are documented properly
- Driver will deliver parts and materials as needed
- Knowledge of precautions needed if exposed to H2S (hydrogen sulfide)
- Experience performing warehouse duties, which include preventative maintenance, inventory and ordering of chemicals, receiving incoming shipments, organizing warehouse for safe and efficient chemical storage and the upkeep of warehouse and laydown yard
- Awareness of chemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Class A CDL with Hazardous Materials endorsement
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and handling of hazardous material
- 1-3 years of truck driving experience
- Willing to attain and maintain forklift certification
