Workplace Manager will manage the day to day Workplace Operations, curate programs, experiences, and support events that foster and amplify Amplitude’s mission, values, and culture. We are actively seeking candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset, who will serve as champions of Amplitude’s core values (Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset), and who will contribute positively to our company culture.The ideal candidate will excel at driving workplace initiatives while cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and executive leadership.

This role necessitates strong customer service acumen to support a diverse onsite team. Additionally, the individual must prioritize workplace experience and adopt a hospitality mindset.This full-time role is based on the Workplace team and reports to the CHRO. While we offer dynamic workplace policies that enable our employees to work from anywhere, this role requires onsite presence in the San Francisco Office.

As a Workplace Manager, You Will:


  • Manage People and Operations: Lead and manage the Workplace team, providing direction, support, and development to team members to ensure high performance and alignment with Amplitude’s values and goals.
  • Oversee Workplace Operations: Take full responsibility and manage the daily operations at the San Francisco headquarters, collaborating with Workplace leads to oversee global operations. This includes janitorial services, life-safety protocols, space planning, food and beverage services, event coordination, and other essential services.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional partner teams, functional leaders, and executive leadership to ensure that the space and experience align with Amplitude’s philosophy of promoting wellness and productivity.
  • Champion Workplace Experience: Lead workplace experience initiatives and contribute insights to our global strategy for these programs, ensuring a positive and engaging workplace environment.
  • Cultivate Internal Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, leadership, partner teams, and key stakeholders to foster a collaborative and supportive work culture.
  • Supervise Vendor Services: Oversee all vendor services, including conducting quarterly business reviews and monitoring vendors to ensure compliance with Amplitude’s service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Innovate and Implement Programs: Develop and implement programs and services to support our growing distributed workforce in the region, as well as onsite facilities.
  • Manage Budget: Oversee the Workplace Operations budget and collaborate with Finance on various aspects, including capex/opex, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Lead Capital Projects: Coordinate and execute capital projects to enhance the workplace environment.
  • Address Safety and Security: Handle local safety, security, and facilities-related concerns and provide effective communication on status and updates.

You'll Be a Great Addition to the Team If You Have:


  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in workplace operations & programs and/or site management.
  • Availability: Ability to be available on-call 24/7 with expected presence in the office.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong management and leadership skills, with experience in managing direct reports.
  • Self-Starter: Proven ability to drive results independently and be proactive in identifying and solving problems.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, financial acumen, and proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Multitasking Ability: Capacity to multitask effectively and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer Service Focus: Background in Workplace Services with a focus on exceptional customer service and promoting a positive employee experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in various systems and collaboration tools such as Google Suite- Gmail, Google Drive etc, Envoy, Zoom, and/or other FM applications.
  • Relocation Experience: Experience in office relocation is plus.
