It’s a true win-win!Honeycomb has driven over $25 million of investment to more than 400 businesses since its inception.  We are growing our sales organization by hiring a new Strategic Account Manager at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA! The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for educating business owners on the benefits of running a Honeycomb offering, helping them complete an application, and working cross-functionally to help businesses prepare to raise money on Honeycomb.As the Strategic Accounts Manager you will:

  • Work exclusively with businesses looking to raise larger quantities of funding, often through more complicated financial structures
  • Become an expert on our community capital product, so you can educate business owners on the benefits of raising capital from their customers and community
  • Call, text, email and meet (virtually and in person) with business owners to support them as they gather the necessary documents to complete an application, and keep them updated as their application is reviewed internally
  • Identify, qualify, nurture and close these strategic accounts through a combination of both inbound lead traffic, referrals, and outbound prospecting
  • Be prepared to work across multiple different stakeholders throughout the course of the Sales process
  • Effectively coordinate between business owners and third party accounting professionals to make sure the appropriate financial documentation is prepared and submitted
  • Work hand in hand with Honeycomb’s Customer Experience team to make sure that the launch of the business’ campaign goes smoothly
  • Build and maintain a book of business by nurturing relationships until their timing or need aligns with Honeycomb offering potential. 75% of all deal flow should be generated through outbound prospecting.
  • Build relationships with referral partners to bring more qualified businesses to the platform

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Highly strategic in both client communication and the ability to navigate complex deal structures
  • Confident and capable of having challenging conversations with clients, while always keeping in mind their best interests
  • Able to work independently and excited about the opportunity to continue to grow and shape the nature of this role moving forward
  • Comfortable navigating basic business financial documents (cash flow statements, profit and loss, and balance sheets)
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of keeping meticulous records in their CRM
  • Comfortable working remotely from the comfort of your own workspace, while maintaining close ties with the Honeycomb marketing, operations, and customer success teams
  • Capable of setting meaningful deadlines and holding business owners accountable to our process and timelines
  • Passionate about serving the small businesses that make our communities shine!

The Strategic Accounts Manager should have 4-6 years of experience in sales or business development, specifically working in multi-step, complex sales processes. Compensation will include a base salary and commission, commensurate with experience as well as a competitive stock option package in a scaling startup. Why Honeycomb?
