Field-Based Medical Affairs role reporting to a regional Field Clinical Practice Director. The Madrigal CPL will proactively engage external Healthcare Professionals within identified clinical practices to provide disease state education on metabolic associated steatotic liver disease/ non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (MASLD/NASH). The CPL will seek to empower clinical practices to improve patient care in NASH using guideline-based education on disease state, diagnostic tests, risk stratification, and clinical management. This may include adoption of care protocols, collaboration with key personnel to establish goals of therapy beyond comorbidity management, understanding regional payer requirements, and continuity of care in a multidisciplinary care model.
CPL will report external insights to shape strategic plans and aid in corporate understand NASH educational needs at the practice level. Candidates will remain compliant with US and company applicable policies, procedures, and regulations including a strong understanding of compliance and non-promotional guidelines.Must be located in Los Angeles, Phoenix, or Vegas for the West Coast CPL position.Responsibilities:Execute NASH disease education initiatives with identified NASH HCPs, meeting criteria developed to ensure education is directed to HCPs with the greatest need to understand pt identification, risk-stratification and managementInteract with healthcare professionals, practice managers, and office staff to efficiently implement NASH care protocolsMaintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise in NASH and deep working knowledge of Madrigal products and other treatments for NASH.Present clinical data and conduct balanced educational presentations on NASH guidelinesAssist in the scientific training for Commercial and other internal colleagues regarding clinical practice standards for NASH managementProvide scientific expertise and support for speaker training and advisory boards as requestedMaintains open communications with other field-based Madrigal employees covering the same geographic areas and collaborate regarding regional educational needsRepresent Madrigal at both national and regional medical meetings to drive awareness of Madrigal, support Medical Information booth activities as needed, cultivate relationships and scientific exchange, and gain real-world insight from HCPs on data and NASHConsistent with appropriate scientific exchange practices for field medical roles, respond to unsolicited requests for medical information while adhering to all policies and procedures regarding the provision of medical information and documentation of requestsAdhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations and maintain a strong understanding of US regulations and complianceSkills and Requirements:Must be open and willing to travelHealthcare degree or science-related graduate degree (e.g., Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist) or other life sciences or equivalent degree with solid medical/clinical backgroundAt least 2 years of patient care in clinical gastroenterology/hepatology clinical practice or metabolic/diabetes management, pharmaceutical industry experience not required but preferredAbility to deeply understand and convey disease state and clinical informationKnowledge of clinical medicine, disease management, and clinical practice operationsWorking knowledge of the US Healthcare System, including care delivery, billing/coding, healthcare paymentsWorking knowledge of relevant research procedures as well as FDA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industryWorking knowledge of the rules and regulations dictating the medical affairs and research activities of life sciences companies in the USDemonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood organizational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environmentProficiency with technology – computers, video conferencing, key software (e.g., Microsoft Office, CRM tools)Significant travel and ability to work independently in a field-based role, ~60-70% per week, including support of scientific meetings over weekendsWithin the Madrigal Competency framework, CPL will maintain proficiencies using internal reference standards as defined below:Scientific & Health Care Knowledge - IntermediateCollaboration & Networking - FundamentalCommunication - IntermediatePersonal Impact & Agility – IntermediateScientific Engagement – IntermediateInsight, Evidence, & Value Generation - FundamentalApply for this job
