GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a
Network Engineer to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protects life and property.
. This is a Hybrid Position. On site in Chantilly as neededThe Network Engineer must have a strong background in Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switches as well as Cisco ASA & FTD Firewalls. He/she has experience working with Datacenter and WAN infrastructures is preferred. Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching Supervisory Responsibilities: ∙ Non-Supervisory Role Duties/Responsibilities: ∙ Familiarity with automation tools and cloud-based technologies (e.g., Infoblox NetMRI, Ansible, Git, Python for automation tools). ∙ AWS and or AZURE for cloud-based tech and the following areas listed below for AWS Networking.
o AWS Networking ▪ VPC configuration ▪ Direct connect Gateway configuration ▪ Transit gateway configuration ∙ Transit gateway attachment configuration ▪ BGP ▪ Terraform configuration / authoring ▪ Go-Lang or Python experience Required Skills: ∙ Must have 8-10 years hands-on network administration experience and designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale network infrastructures ∙ Familiarity with automation tools and cloud-based technologies. Examples would be Infoblox NetMRI, Ansible, Git, Python for automation tools. ∙ AWS and or AZURE for cloud-based tech and the following areas listed below for AWS Networking.
o AWS Networking: ▪ VPC configuration ▪ Direct connect Gateway configuration▪ Transit gateway configuration ∙ Transit gateway attachment configuration ▪ BGP ▪ Terraform configuration / authoring ▪ Go-Lang or Python experience ∙ Hands on Cisco Catalyst & Nexus switches experience ∙ Hands on Cisco ASA & FTD Firewalls. experience ∙ Experience working in a Cloud Environment using containerization ∙ Experience working in an Agile development environment ∙ Familiar with Systems Engineering processes ∙ Willing to learn new things ∙ Ability to obtain a Security Clearance Desired skills ∙ Working with government STIGs and vulnerability resolution ∙ Evaluating versions of networking hardware operating systems to identify remediation to security findings ∙ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification is desirable ∙ Agile development experience is a plus. ∙ Familiar with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, Git, etc. ∙ Familiar with working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices ∙ Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors∙ Highly organized with strong attention to detail ∙ Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization Education and Experience: ∙ A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is commonly required.
