GAMA-1 Technologies, LLC seeks a remote Jira Administrator to join our team and support.
The candidate will support GAMA-1's growing Cloud Services practice. In particular, the successful candidate will help drive GAMA-1's efforts to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Cloud and National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) initiatives. These strategic cloud initiatives intend to increase the bureau's IT efficiency, improve IT delivery, and reduce costs.The ideal candidate will have experience in administering and supporting Jira (or like application) dashboards, analytics, and reporting solutions for business operations using the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Jira Dashboards, JQL, Confluence, and Bitbucket (all Data Center editions hosted on Amazon Web Services).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Serve as backup to Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) Senior Jira Administrator
  • Train new Jira users on initial access and general user instructions
  • Provide some Jira Help Desk Support for day-to-day Jira ticket entries, permissions, updates, and standardizations.
  • Manage Incident ticket data for reporting and data analytics
  • Analyze, review, and document current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement.
  • Manage user permissions for tools according to the needs of projects and teams. 
  • Perform application and system administration tasks, including data backups and scheduled jobs. 
  • Test new versions of the tools and plug-ins to ensure compatibility. 
  • Research and utilize industry standard methods and techniques. 
  • Maintain JIRA projects, workflows, permissions, and users to include adding external plug-ins and modifying JQL as needed.
  • Set access permissions for JIRA projects and Confluence spaces. 
  • Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration. 
  • Communicate and share knowledge with internal and external contacts at all levels. 
  • Work directly with multiple teams and business units to understand business needs and translate those to IT/business capabilities
  • Meet with stakeholders to identify JIRA Project and Confluence technical support needs
  • Support Jira metrics/dashboards creations
  • Document, track, and escalate Jira/Confluence ticket issues through closure.
  • Create, maintain, and support dashboards and advanced filters for end users reporting capabilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:


  • 6+ years of direct Jira (Atlassian) hands on experience
  • Strong customer Support/Help Desk Experience (desired)
  • Strong verbal and communications skills, working with senior leadership and across organizational teams
  • Ability to always create a positive Customer Experience and high customer satisfaction rate
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms)
  • The ability to obtain a security clearance 

Education and Experience:


  • BS/BA OR 6+ years of experience providing customer service.
  • Desired:
  • Federal government experience
  • Working knowledge of AWS (helpful)
  • Advanced Smartsheet skills
