EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


Job Overview:


The Executive Director for the St. Philip’s Child Development Center is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall operations, administration, and strategic direction of the center. This includes ensuring the highest standards of care, education, and safety for children while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and nurturing environment that supports the development and well-being of children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic plan that aligns with the center's mission, vision, and values. Set clear objectives and goals to drive the center's growth, program quality, and overall success.
  • Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of the center's daily operations, including enrollment, staffing, curriculum, and facilities management. Ensure efficient resource allocation and optimal utilization of space, personnel, and materials.
  • Program Development and Quality: Collaborate with the Education Director and teaching staff to design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports children's learning and social-emotional development. Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements based on best practices and research.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the Administrative manager to stay informed about relevant licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and industry standards. Ensure the center's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at all times.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the Administrative Manager and Education Director to develop and manage the center's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible resource allocation. Monitor expenses, revenue, and fundraising efforts to maintain fiscal health.
  • Staff Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of educators, administrative staff, and support personnel. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.
  • Parent and Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, families, and the community. Facilitate effective communication, address concerns, and promote family involvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of the center's programs, services, and processes. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the overall quality of the center.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Safety: Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff during various scenarios.
  • Advocacy and Partnerships: Represent the center in community partnerships, collaborations, and advocacy efforts related to early childhood education and development.

  • Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree In Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master's preferred).
    • At least seven (7) years of leadership experience in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of child development principles, best practices in early childhood education, and regulatory requirements.
    • Proven leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
    • Financial management expertise, including budgeting and resource allocation.
    • Familiarity with local and state regulations governing child development centers.
    • Dedication to promoting the well-being and development of children and families.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
