Procon Consulting is seeking an Environmental Technician for a opportunity on various federal projects. The candidate will have responsibilities that include but not limited to providing technical Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) support for projects, initiatives, and operational requirements related to safety, hazardous materials, indoor air quality, and environmental compliance. Work closely with external EHS Officers to provide subject matter expertise to address EHS issues and ensure full compliance with federal policies and procedures. Conduct quality assurance inspections and audits of capital and operational projects to validate the effective implementation of client safety and business continuity protocols. This requires 5+ years of experience in EHS. The ideal candidate will also posses the following skills and requirements:
Qualifications & Skills
- Have the following certifications : Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), DEQ ESC - Erosion & Sediment Control Training, DEQ SWM - Stormwater Management.
- Experience producing a C-107 Report.
- OSHA 10 Hours preferred but not required.
- VDOT experience preferred but not required.
- 5 years of inspection services.
- A degree in Environmental consulting or related field preferred but not required.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct environmental inspections on roadway infrastructure.
- Supports the federal EHS Officer in managing, implementing, and providing regulatory oversight of EHS programs.
- Assists with day to day project management of environmental quality controls, testing and investigations for air quality, etc.
- Assists with providing oversight and implementation of COVID mitigation protocols, as needed for projects and initiatives. This includes onsite plans, responses, and solutions.
- Assists with Reviews, validating, and providing feedbacks on internal and third-party studies, assessments, conducted for projects. Provide technical guidance & recommendation to prevent and minimize environment, safety and business continuity impact to roadway infrastructure.
- Assist in the monitoring of safety compliance during the day to day execution of projects. Coordinate, develop and validate trending and root cause analysis for EHS issues and incidents, as needed.
- Ability to develop reports, summaries, briefing slides, and bullet point papers on EHS issues, findings, and research, as required.
- Provides support to planning and implementation of environmental awareness campaign and training.
- Assists with providing technical guidance to colleagues and vendors to ensure full compliance with the execution of contract work.
