Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks a Facility Management Support Specialist for a government project and long term role. The ideal candidate would be able to obtain an entry level clearance and must have at least 5 years of experience in a facilities management role or similar position. This role is located in Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Qualifications & Skills
- A minimum of five years’ experience in providing support for facility management activities.
- Supporting Facilities Management team as needed:
- Experience in furniture assembly and dis-assembly, including the ability to transport, crate, uncrate, assemble and dis-assemble basic furniture parts and pieces.
- Ability to lift/carry/move 40lb. boxes from one building to another with the use of hand truck/dollies.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, including multiple hours, and climb ladders. Experience in addressing post-move punch list items, including box and trash removal, furniture cleaning and minor furniture repairs.
- Ability to assist with special projects on an as-needed basis, including copier paper/supply distribution, recycling, etc.
- Conduct furniture or equipment inventory and condition assessment.
- Remove material from storage, moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances.
- Escort for un-cleared building engineers, contractors, and movers to support government space planning efforts, including through periodic area surveys.
- Provide customer service; respond to requests sent to the Gov't Facilities mailbox and through a ServiceNow Facilities Workticket Software.
- Organize and maintain administrative files and reference materials.
- Routinely use Microsoft Office software to perform daily work.
Responsibilities & Duties
- 5 years of experience in providing support for facility management activities.
- Coordinating with Facilities on after-hours tasks that are necessary to support readying reservable spaces for next occupant.
- Readying reservable space for next occupants:
- Cleaning/wiping down worksurfaces, equipment, and high-touch surfaces in accordance with COVID cleaning protocols.
- Replenishing supplies.
- Ensuring chairs in all spaces are aligned with room capacity; relocate chairs as needed.
- Ensuring trash and recycle bins are emptied/disposed.
- Removing articles left behind in spaces by the previous occupant.
- Ensuring doors/furniture are locked.
- Move empty boxes/crates to appropriate locations.
- Escorting Contractors within the building.
- painting walls before or after wall repair or maintenance.
