Copper River Enterprise Services is seeking a
Senior Maintenance Mechanic - Master Electrician to perform skilled work maintenance and repair work at the master electrician level, to International Building Code standards, throughout all facilities on the
New Embassy Compound/New Consulate Compound (NEC/NCC) to include office buildings, grounds, out buildings, ancillary structures, and residential owned/leased properties.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Maintain accurate records of buildings systems and equipment and ensure there are ample spare parts and materials in stock to keep systems operational.
- Perform skilled mechanical maintenance by inspecting and testing elements of facilities systems to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions.
- Performs preventive maintenance on the electrical power and lighting distribution systems and related components to maintain system operation and reliability to ensure uninterrupted power to critical facilities, equipment, and critical systems. Uses Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques to determine system reliability, schedule equipment shutdowns for preventive maintenance, and to predict when equipment and/or systems will need to be replaced. Responds to scheduled, unscheduled, and preventive maintenance work orders generated by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and completes assigned work orders within the time standards set by the Collaborative Management Initiative (CMI).
- Perform preventive maintenance to keep facilities systems to prescribed operating standards and/or performance rates.
- Troubleshoot problems and make adjustments and/or perform required repairs using hand tools and precision measuring and testing devices.
- Provide detailed estimate of repair (and/or replacement) costs beyond the capability to perform.
- Repair existing facilities systems according to work orders or verbal instructions by inspecting the work site to determine the materials, equipment, tool requirements, and method to be used, develop a plan or lay out for the project or following a blueprint, sketch or schematic, and assemble, fabricate, or build and install materials, equipment, or fixtures as required.
- Performs hands-on installation and repairs of the electrical power and lighting system, control circuitry, and other building electrical systems. Work includes, but is not limited to emergency generator controls, HVAC power and controls, mechanical pump power and controls, fire alarm system controls and devices, panel boards, UPS system, automatic transfer switches, relay controls, programmable control systems for switchgear, medium voltage transformers, motor control centers, convenience outlet power circuits, lighting fixtures and lighting control circuits. Ensures that all assigned repairs are accomplished promptly and completely, using the manufacturers recommended repair or replacement parts, and meeting International Building Code standards/requirements for installation methods and serviceability.

- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- 3 years related overseas experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience Master-level experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems, power generation and electrical distribution systems, grounding, and control circuitry. This should include a minimum of three (3) years’ work experience on similar sized equipment configurations and systems with an increased level of complex work requirements.
- Possess the necessary ability, proficiency and qualifications to execute, install, plan, lay out, supervise and direct the details for installation and supervise the work of installing, repairing and maintaining specific materials and equipment utilizing a working knowledge sufficient to comply with the pertinent provisions of the applicable safety and building codes, any code supplements, maintenance and acceptance testing criteria and standards, manufacturer requirements and executed in accordance with the contract/statement of work, plans and specifications
- Ability to provide proof of completing an accredited elevator apprentice program for maintenance and repair of elevators, dumbwaiters, accessibility lifts, and material lifts as defined in ASME 17.1 Safety Standard for Elevators and Escalators
- Use and implementation of International Building Code (IBC) standards, building, electrical, mechanical, and fire and life safety codes in the execution of projects.
- Valid driver’s license for vehicle operation and ability to maintain it
- Must have good working knowledge to identify and mitigate safety hazards and capable to ensure Facilities comply with local environmental, U.S. OSHA, and local safety standards.
- Ability to manage critical, time sensitive projects that require extensive coordination across program and organizational lines.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work a 6 day work week (Monday-Saturday)
