About Us:
We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft. We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us.
Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).
About the role
Notion’s Creative Team is a group of strategists, designers, illustrators, filmmakers, writers, web engineers, and producers that deliver on all of Notion’s brand and creative expressions. We’re looking for an experienced, process-oriented Video Producer who can work across our in-house team and contractors to help bring dozens of videos to life — and can help our team reach exceptional outcomes.
What you’ll achieve
As Video Producer, you will partner closely with Notion’s Video Lead to help shape the future of video at Notion. Specifically, you will be responsible for building and sustaining new processes that help our video practice deliver high-impact projects quickly, while maintaining our high quality bar. Reporting into Creative Strategy & Operations, this is a new role on the team — a unique opportunity to define the operational structure, agency and contractor collaborations, service-level agreements, engagement models, process optimization, and resource management that drives the rhythm of our work.
- Envision and build operational structure to align our video work across Creative Team, and with the rest of the company
- Manage video projects end-to-end, from pre-production and shoot supervision through post-production and delivery
- Source, develop, and steer video ideas from cross-functional partners at Notion, as well as from Notion’s global community of passionate users
- Optimize the execution of creative videos, managing budgets, resources, timelines, video development, and localization from production to delivery
- Solve for operational risks and dependencies by analyzing tradeoffs, mapping resources to OKRs, and pre-empting disruption to project timelines, deliverables, and team resourcing
- Create and own our service-level agreements with both internal partner teams and external vendors, providing regular project statuses to stakeholders while tracking progress towards milestones
- Be the liaison between Video Lead, Designers, and functions including Finance, Legal, and Recruiting
Skills you’ll need to bring
- 8+ years of experience working in Video Production or a similar field, with proven success leading video projects to fruition
- Exceptional domain expertise, including familiarity with delivering against media specs and pulling reports on video performance to make strategic recommendations
- Speed: You bias towards action and operate with ambition, creating repeatable processes that help the video teams you manage do the same
- Collaboration: People on the teams you operationalize and partner with become the best versions of themselves by working with you
- Order agent: You love running the day-to-day operations while shaping the team’s monthly roadmap, and are always seeking to turn ambiguity into clarity
- Skilled executor: You’re able to operate at all altitudes within an organization, from scheduling executive reviews to ensuring contractors get paid on time
- Storyteller: You view video as an exciting storytelling medium and constantly reach for the bold, trying new things that haven't been seen before from a SaaS company
- High EQ: You’re great at reading both people and rooms, and can adapt your operating style situationally
- Creative champion: You have both empathy and passion for being an essential part of the creative process and view the quality of the team’s work as a direct reflection of your own
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Notion a huge plus — understanding our product is key to understanding how to tell stories about it
- On-set experience, including conducting interviews and directing crews
- Examples of production documentation and sample projects completed as production partner
- Familiarity with Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects to assist with editing where needed
- Passport for possible domestic or international travel
