Role:
Lead Product DesignerReporting to: VP of ProductSignal 1 is on a mission to transform hospital care with AI. Formed out of a partnership between a world-leading applied AI company and a world-leading research hospital, Signal 1 provides hospitals with an end-to-end clinical AI solution. We offer a secure, cloud-based platform that enables healthcare partners to ingest patient data, apply real-time AI models, and deliver them directly into clinical workflows. We also offer a suite of models that help clinicians support patients throughout their journey, including supporting triage decisions in the ER, identifying patients who are at risk of deterioration, and identifying those ready to be discharged.
All of Signal 1's models are developed in close collaboration with clinicians, with products live in multiple hospitals across the country. We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our team. You will:
- Create and apply a coherent design language across multiple clinical AI applications, while expanding upon our existing component and brand design system
- Collaborate with our ML scientists to design intuitive data visualizations
- Collaborate with doctors and nurses to design a turnkey experience, assisting the end-to-end journey of their patients from admission to discharge
- Iterate with engineers to design, prototype and implement solutions for desktop web and mobile environments
- Be part of business strategy discussions and product design solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- At least 4 - 5 years of Product and UX design experience
- An online portfolio of product design work
- Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design and prototyping tools
- Ability to work independently as a design practitioner to solve highly ambiguous and complex problems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing for the healthcare industry
- Experience or a passion for designing AI-based products
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices
- Knowledge of accessible design principles, guidelines and best practices
