The Vice President of Clinical Development will provide scientific/medical leadership and support for NASH trials in various stages of clinical development including post approval trials. This individual will support the development and execution of the clinical development strategy and plans in support of Resmetirom and additional development programs. The VP of Clinical Development will work closely with relevant cross-functional leaders and teams, particularly medical affairs, on development and post-launch activities. They will take a leadership role for the medical and scientific oversight of clinical trials. S/he may assist as a therapeutic area expert in content creation, strategic and tactical discussions, publications and data analyses, and interactions with external experts and investigators.
Position Responsibilities:Leads the scientific and medical oversight of clinical trialsProvides expertise in hepatology and strategic vision related to NASH therapeutic developmentConducts medical monitoring of ongoing clinical trials Develops protocols (Phase 1-4)Collaborates with Pharmacovigilance including review of SAE’s Interacts with thought leaders (TLs) on emerging science in drug and biomarker research, disease knowledge and design of clinical protocol and programs Ensures Madrigal representation and participation with medical/scientific associations and coalitions Participates in analyses of data and publications of researchManages an internal MD team Qualifications and Skills:MD with fellowship in transplant or advanced Hepatology (or Gastroenterology/Endocrine) Relevant academic or industry experience in Clinical research and/or basic hepatology researchClinical experience as a practicing physician in hepatology and NASHStrong leadership with proven ability to manage/influence internal and external stakeholders Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with research publications Highly organized and motivated individual possessing entrepreneurial skills and the ability to provide clear vision Experience in a customer-facing role with thought leaders and key customersDemonstrated success working in a cross functional team including medical colleagues, clinical, safety and data managementProficiency in scientific and clinical data review and interpretationAbility to travel, up to 25%Apply for this job
