Description
Streamline Innovations, Inc. is seeking an Automation Specialist to assist with most aspects of system integration projects by identifying parts and components for PLC, network, computer, and software components; programming PLCs and HMIs; testing functionality of program logic and installed equipment; troubleshooting software and systems issues during start-up and development; developing and assembling required documentation and user manuals created during the development process.
- Reads and interprets diagrams and documentation
- Applies knowledge in industrial instrumentation (flow, level, temp, pressure,) configuration, spanning, and setup, calibration, and best installation practices
- Applies knowledge in tagging conventions, programming simulation and testing
- Communicates with customers to understand objectives and preferences (P&IDs, electrical drawings, and loop drawings)
- Develops BOMs and IO lists
- Troubleshoots problems that occur during startup, caused by incorrect drawings, changes in customer desires, incorrect instrumentation specifications, or other technical issues.
- Diagnoses and resolves software and hardware interface issues
- Develops hardware and software test plans and writes simulation logic for the testing of the PLC and HMI system
- Tests installed systems to observe system functionality and ensure that the programs function as designed
Requirements
- At minimum, B.S. in Electronic & Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with managing switch setup
- Experience with PLC software, Studio 5000, and Plant PAX
- Experience with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
- At least 5 years’ experience preferred
- At minimum, 5 years’ experience with instrumentation
- At minimum, 5 years’ experience with PLC, HMI, and related hardware
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and Powerflex VFD; Hardware configuration and setup
- At minimum, 5 years’ experience with controls & automation
- Knowledge in industrial instrumentation (flow, level, temp, pressure,) configuration, spanning, and setup, calibration, and best installation practices
- Knowledge in tagging conventions, programming simulation and testing
- Basic network skills
- Must have good inter-personnel communication and report writing skills
- Participates in a high level of productivity, initiative, and teamwork
