Mail Program Director [Temporary]

The Mail Program Director will project manage our award-winning voter registration mail program responsible for registering more than 805,000 voters during the 2020 election cycle. They’ll work closely with our partners to understand their electoral goals, recommend mail best practices, and guide them through the process from design to chase. What You Will Do:


  • Manage all mail campaigns sourced from our multiple product and service lines.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Once a new partnership is established, work with the Sales team to deliver promised products and services.
  • Communicate professionally, frequently, and effectively with vendors and with clients while their mail program is ongoing. Communication is primarily over email and Google Meet video; some in-person meetings and travel may be required. 
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals, and generate internal reports to keep stakeholders informed about the progress of campaigns.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, including multiple mail vendors and the USPS.
  • Ensure future resource availability and manage supply stock with regular reports to management about inventory.
  • Remain informed of industry best practices pertaining to voter registration mail and work with our Marketing team to communicate our lessons learned externally.
  • Be prepared to wear multiple hats in a startup environment.

About You:


  • 6+ years of experience in the world of political campaigns or advocacy organizations, so that you can understand a campaign’s goals and challenges from the local to presidential level.
  • Experience working with bulk mail or commercial mail vendors.
  • Experience managing client or vendor relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to write clearly, quickly, and succinctly.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead by example.
  • Experience using data to improve strategy and decision making.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
  • Self-driven, inquisitive, and eager to help others participate in the electoral process.

Additional Qualifications (Desired but Not Required):


  • Experience using SQL.
  • While it's not required, we would prefer someone based in Chicago, IL, or Phoenix, AZ, as these locations are where the majority of mail vendors operate.

Classification & Salary:


  • This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $120,000, commensurate with location and experience.
  • Please note that this role is temporary and will only last through November 2024.

$80,000 - $120,000 a yearCivitech is headquartered in Austin, TX, with employees in 11 states across the country. The Mail Program Director can work from our Austin co-working space or remotely in any US location. We would prefer someone who is based in Phoenix, Arizona or Chicago, Illinois (cities where most of our printers are based).
