Summary:
Financial Reporting specialist well-versed in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the upstream oil and gas industry. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on the precise and timely delivery of internal and external financial reports, monthly management reports with variance analysis, data management, and controls over the general ledger.
Responsibility and authority
Key tasks and responsibilities
· Execute monthly consolidations for all entities within the group, accurately and timely, ensuring results correctly reflect the company's financial position.· Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, including Electronic Single Reporting Format (ESEF) tagging.· Facilitate the external audit process, serving as the primary contact for reporting with external auditors.· Develop monthly management reports, including comprehensive variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.· Maintain integrity and controls over the general ledger and other master data used in financial reporting.· Ensure the preparation of regulatory reporting for securities commissions and stock exchanges is accurate and timely.· Provide insightful financial analysis to senior management, focusing on trends, risks, and opportunities.· Stay updated with IFRS changes and regulatory requirements, ensuring the company's reporting practices are current.· Utilize financial reporting software and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.· Maintain and review accounting procedures, processes and make improvements when necessary.
· Drive continuous improvement to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of the Reporting function and play a key role in implementation of new systems and tools.· Coordinate and prepare internal and external presentations with financial data.· Support management in miscellaneous projects and ad-hoc business needs.
Authorities
The role is based in Houston and requires interface with the BWE teams in Gabon, Brazil, Namibia, Norway and Singapore. Some travel is required to ensure an efficient coordination with these other offices and countries.
Requirements
Education
· Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting · Preferably C.P.A
Experience
· Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, including 5 years of consolidations, with exposure to the upstream oil and gas industry· Previous experience from a multinational company is an advantage· Technical Accounting research

Knowledge
· In-depth knowledge of IFRS, preferably within the oil and gas sector.· Strong experience in internal and external financial reporting for a public company.· Proficient in data management and establishing controls over the GL.· Proficient in Excel· Good knowledge of ERP and Financial Reporting systems and tools· Fluent in English (oral and written) o French or Portuguese is a plus
