Full-timeDescriptionSFI provides support to a Federal Agency to maintain their weather systems with a 100% uptime rate. This includes performing operations and maintenance (O&M) of systems and developing new systems and upgrades. This also includes O&M support and any new features support activities related to the development, modernization, and enhancement (DME) of applications.As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you must be a self-starter who can perform well independently, interact with clients professionally, and collaborate with diverse internal and external teams.
The candidate will be responsible for enhancing the security, efficiency, and reliability of software development and deployment processes. The candidate must demonstrate progressive experience in the full life cycle of the software development environment. We are looking to hire someone who has strong communication, analytical, and time management skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain secure development and deployment pipelines
- Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics
- Ensures products comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods
- Translates high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements
- Establishes and coordinates the development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Customer liaison for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements
- Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts
- Translates high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline software teams to develop lower-level detailed requirements
- Generates system-level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures
- Report detailed status of activities to the Program Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or substitute four years of equivalent work experience
- Requires 10+ years of hands-on DevSecOps experience
- In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms and their security best practices
- Experienced in hybrid cloud/on-prem security and compute architecture implementations
- Experience in configuring and securing CI/CD pipelines
- Static and dynamic applications security testing experience
- Experience with design, implementation, and management of securing open-source infrastructure with security management tools
- Proficiency with scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Bash)
- Experience with Risk Management Framework and ICD 503 implementation
- Subject matter expertise in AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, KMS, Cloud Formation, and IAM
- Understand ethical hacking solutions
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong analysis as well as attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to share ideas both with the business and internal IT teams
Certifications (Required):
ITIL FOUNDATION CERTIFIED
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of software testing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with Agile software development process (working with a scrum team).
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and technical documentation.
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers.
- Master's Degree
- Ability to interact with all levels of management internally, as well as with customers and stakeholders externally
- Communication skills both verbal and written
- Previous federal government project experience a plus
- CISSP and AWS certifications preferred
- ITIL Intermediate Certification

Salary Description$100,000-$150,000 Based on Experience
