Lucas Systems is growing, and we are seeking an experienced, well-rounded individual to join our Accounting and General Administration team. This role will play an integral part in every aspect of the Accounting Department’s support of the business operations including, but not limited to, the responsibilities listed below. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will interact and work closely with all the departments to maintain and drive Lucas’ continued success.The Accountant has responsibility for the following:• Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Credit Checks, Collections and Cash Application • Accounts Payable, Data Entry and Check Runs• Billing and Reporting Assistance (Cost Accounting) to Project Managers • Procurement and Shipment of Customer Hardware Orders • Sales and Use Tax Preparation and Filing • Journal Entries and Month End Closing• General Ledger Account Reconciliations• Bank Account Reconciliations• Reviewing (for compliance with company policies), Tracking and Processing of Employee Expenses• Financial Reporting• Month End and Year End Projects• Administrative Support & Ad Hoc Projects (as may be needed from time to time)RequirementsMinimum Qualifications• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance• Minimum of 3, ideally 5 or more, years of general accounting experienceo Cost Accounting Experience a plus• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Self-Starter with attention to detail, reporting and deadlines• Proficiency with MS Office, Accounting software packages and Internet applications (NetSuite a plus)• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
