Full-timeDescriptionThe Solutions Architect is an integral team member who works with various groups to support modernization efforts. The Solutions Architect will need to be on top of the latest designs, frameworks, and other trends in the full stack. The Solutions Architect must be comfortable in the development and maintenance of CI\CD pipelines to deploy software in the AWS cloud.
- Evaluate existing development and make recommendations for consideration by the Federal Government
- Plan, establish, enhance, and maintain complex technical solutions.
- Come up with new system architecture and components that will be suitable for an Agile software development methodology to deliver incremental future functionality without major refactoring and architectural changes to the new system
- Work closely with the Federal Solutions Architect to implement the enterprise vision.
- Modernize older applications to new design paradigms and/or new frameworks
- Design and support the development and deployment of mission critical applications using different frameworks/technologies (Angular, Java, API Gateway, S3, PostgreSQL, and AWS)
- Migrate on-premises applications to the cloud and leverage cloud services for application infrastructure needs (database, file storage, hosting, logging, etc.)
- Support Agile development teams by developing and maintaining tools, pipelines, scripts, and environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for consistent and repeatable environment deployment
- Develop, update, and maintain the Solution Architecture Document (SAD) to specify the software layers (front end, middle tier, and backend) and the interconnections among major components, including services, APIs, databases and information stores and third-party software, hardware, services, and components
- Ensure that the proposed system adheres to Enterprise Architecture guidelines, standards, and obtain approvals for solution designs through the Architecture Review process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field), or substitute six years of equivalent work experience
- At least five (5) years of experience working as a Solutions Architect
- Experience modernizing an existing system to leverage an AWS cloud-based platform
- At least three (3) years of solid experience with APIs and JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks such as Angular/React/Vue/Node.js.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (GitHub) - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools
- Experience integrating DevOps tools into end-to-end pipelines
- Broad knowledge in modern information technologies and in-depth knowledge of one development, security, or operational technology
- Agile development implementation management is required
- Must have experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong work ethic, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Candidates must be able to pass a US Public Trust background check for badging and to access client systems
- Previous federal government project experience a plus

- The salary for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 annually
