Sales Operations Analyst Intern


This newly created role is responsible for providing support to the Sales Teams in three areas:  Data Analysis; Enablement Training; and Technology, Tool(s) and Process.

The Role:


Data Analysis


Conduct Data Analysis in support of sales, business performance, activity and company/customer trends.

  • Review and analyze data within Microsoft Dynamics and develop plan to improve data integrity
  • Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements.
  • Create and produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc.
  • Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities.
  • Identify and define both process gaps and potential improvements.

Operational processes & metrics:

  • Continually derive and communicate actionable insights from Microsoft Dynamics & sales execution data in a way that compels key stakeholders to act on this data.

Collect, analyze and report data related to:

  • Sales trends, pricing, performance metrics, market share, and other sales-related statistics that drive sales performance.
  • Produce reports that provide insight and guidance to management for sales strategy development and maximum sales efficiency.

Enablement Training:


Research, design, and implement training materials using appropriate Learning Management System (LMS) for Sales

  • Write, design, edit, and maintain documentation and training materials.
  • Explain and train complex product information to non-technical audiences.
  • Maximize effectiveness of training materials by researching training methodologies, learning tools, and practices.

Coordinate ongoing training with Sales Enablement and provide new/updated courses as necessary using Lessonly (LMS) to help educate end users.

Technology, Tool(s) and Process Support


Assist with managing and maintaining all sales support technology solutions

  • Stay current and review new features to identify further ways to leverage and optimize all the available features and capabilities to help benefit sales.

Support the sales operations and planning functions in developing and improving sales processes, systems, and strategies.

  • Assist with incentive/commission calculations, coordinating territory/region assignments, etc.
  • Support sales planning, reporting, forecasting quota and management, sales process optimization, sales development, and territory planning.
  • Work with Sales Leadership to identify and understand process bottlenecks and inconsistencies to implement solutions that will improve the sales team’s performance.
  • Work with End Users to see how they are using the system to help them be more efficient and help develop ongoing education and training.

Research and investigate other sales tools based on feedback and needs from Sales Leadership.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage projects within the Sales team and coordinate with other departments on cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in special projects as directed by the Manager, Sales Operations
  • Answer questions from sales and prioritize user feedback.

The Candidate:


  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in in Information Systems, Statistics, Finance or closely related discipline or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and their function/purpose is a plus
  • Entry level sales experience in a SAAS environment is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Prior experience with a data analysis software such as Minitab, JMP, SPSS preferred
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and initiative to work effectively both independently and on a team.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
  • This position is not eligible for remote work and is located at our State College, PA Headquarters location
