Project Background:
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Emergency Preparedness & Response Operations (EPRO) directs and coordinates CMS programs for emergency preparedness, response and recovery, and continuity of operations. EPRO works with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), other federal departments and agencies, beneficiaries, health care providers, and other stakeholders in carrying out these programs. Internally, EPRO works with the Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA) regarding CMS essential records management.
EPRO establishes policies, procedures, and strategic and operational plans, provides situational awareness, and conducts training, testing, exercises, and evaluations to ensure CMS' preparedness and workforce readiness to respond to natural disasters, human-caused incidents, and public health emergencies.
Position Description:
The Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Lead reports directly to the Administrative and Support Staff lead and oversees the Continuity Support Lead. The Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Lead will act as the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the contract. Assist EPRO in managing various aspects of various electronic systems, databases, data entry, and quality assurance efforts.
Required Skills:
Must have at least (5) years of related experience performing IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity activities, such as DR testing, policy and plan development, and facilitation.Graduate degree with a major or concentration in Business Continuity or a related field or holding a current Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)® or Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)® or Certified Public Sector Continuity Professional (CPSCP)® credential from the Disaster Recovery International Institute (DRII) may substitute for two years of experience.Advanced knowledge of business process and business impact analysis methodologies and implementation.Must be experienced and knowledgeable in working with the NIST SP 800 series of publications and the NIST Risk Management Framework.Candidate must be willing to travel into the regional offices up to 20% of the time, for events, and at the discretion of the clientDesired Skills:
