The Senior Software Engineer will leverage their comprehensive development expertise to support the digitally transformed US Census Bureau (USCB). The 2030 Decennial Census system-of-systems will be scaled up to become one of the largest and most successful production environments running in the AWS GovCloud region. We require an innovative engineer who can help our USCB customer plan for and develop 2030 Decennial Census applications in a new, highly secure enterprise cloud environment.
Responsibilities;
- Primary responsibilities will focus on AWS/Cloud Native development with an AI/ML and data science focus
- Brainstorm, design, and develop applications, data processing approaches, modules, and functions.
- Maintain code base, data sets, and related project documents
- Work with application engineering and DevOps teams
- Collaborate with data scientists on data analysis, implementation review, model verification, and performance improvement
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of development experience
- US Citizenship required. Candidates must also be able to pass a Department of Commerce Public Trust investigation
- Experience with AWS/Cloud-Native Development
- Strong hands-on development experience with Python and/or PySpark
Desired Skills:
- US Census Bureau experience
