We are looking for a committed Senior System Administrator to join our Tactical Command and Control LOB. You will solve uniquely challenging problems for our Defense and Homeland Security customers. Help manage large volumes of critical, real-time information about issues from global to local.

This role requires an active US Secret security clearance and to be on-site 50% of the time.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and configuring big data environments based on many open source and commercial products
  • Maintain existing systems and automate procedures
  • Improve performance and security monitoring
  • Tune performance of existing web application stack
  • Perform software hardening and assessments (e.g., STIG checklists)
  • Support on-premise and cloud environments (unclassified and classified)
  • System administration of development, test and production systems
  • Implementing and utilizing monitoring, alerting, and response system capabilities
  • Analyzing system, software and user performance metrics to include trend capture
  • Implementing and utilizing production change and compliance management systems covering hardware life cycle, system updates, software and security patching, and technology roadmap
  • Maintaining a suite of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support production operations appropriate to existing or anticipated failure modes that expertly document responses to system failure issues
  • Configuring and maintaining user account management interfaces and system supports including direct customer interface
  • Utilizing security management capabilities and helping ensure a secure and DoD compliant service and system architecture
  • Supporting the DevOps environment of cutting edge military and national defense related applications
  • Periodic planned, scheduled, and/or rotational on-call system maintenance support outside of normal duty hours, as required
  • Keeping up with trends in DevSecOps and SRE

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE


  • BS in Computer Science, equivalent degree, or previous work experience
  • 10+ year’s experience with Linux (Red Hat) system administration
  • Managed taskings and led team of system administrators
  • Conducted system performance and file integrity monitoring
  • Managed user issue identification, reporting, tracking and feedback functions
  • Escalated user issues based on trends or alerts
  • Conducted vulnerability scanning, mitigation, and reporting functions

EVEN BETTER


  • Scripting experience (such as Puppet, Ansible, Bash, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments (AWS, Azure, Google, etc)
  • Experience with KVM or VMWare virtualization technologies
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with big data infrastructure to include Hadoop, Accumulo, Elasticsearch, MongoDB and Cloudera EDH
  • Understand web application infrastructures to include Wildfly, Apache HTTPD, NGINX and Spring products
  • Experience with configuration of direct attached and storage area network units
  • Information security experience and certifications (NIDS, HIDS, Auditing, Incident Response)
  • Supported plans for security and cyber attack mitigation
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Atlassian products
