The VPP Project Engineer will provide onsite and remote federal program leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical analysis to support monitoring activities of the projects after loan closure and as the project enter the construction phase specifically to support: construction progress review (include site visits), draw and transfer requests (to include appropriate invoice review), Construction Change requests, and other monitoring request/actions as need per the LGA/consent requests
- Provide technical analysis to assist in the determination of technical eligibility and viability review
- Provide technical and market-related guidance, analysis, and review of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) requirements and innovative financing structures of commercial-scale Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), a connected aggregation of clean Distributed Energy Resource (DER) technologies
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of US Citizenship required to obtain client issued Public Trust
- 5+ years of professional, relevant experience in the private or government sector
- Experience in engineering management, project management, or construction management, including invoice review, construction monitoring, construction expenses, and construction reporting
- Experience working in communications within the energy sector or an energy program
- Experience working in a communications role within a government program
- Interest in electric utility issues (including markets, regulation, and end-use technologies) and in nexus of energy, decarbonization, economics, governmental programs
- Understanding of project development and basic finance
- Strong analytical, problem solving, research, and communication skills with keen attention to detail
- Able to adapt to change quickly and effectively
- Ability to work with other technical and non-technical staff to exacting standards while under overlapping deadlines for multiple projects
- Able to work independently to prioritize work as well as collaborate as a team member
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree
