About The Team:
The BlueLabs Data Science Team develops deep expertise and uses data to inform strategic advice to our clients. Our polling work designs, implements, and fields tools that power our analysis and messaging. We take a deep dive into research that looks at what motivates people to vote, buy a product, hold an opinion, and whether campaigns are successful. Our statistical research identifies areas where we can better assess the impact of various factors in the campaign and polling areas. Our fast-paced, impact-driven team conducts innovative analysis to support our clients’ work.
We bring definition to challenging problems, creatively identify data sources, then design analytics that accurately measure impact and move the needle every day. We work in changing, ambiguous environments, so we embrace nuance, inclusivity, and complexity to deliver programs that work for the diverse groups of individuals who rely on us.About The Role:Fellows will be provided a chance to work directly with data scientists, strategists, analysts, and client leads on meaningful, hands-on work, while being guided and supported by their manager. Fellows will also be expected to complete a capstone project as part of their program with BlueLabs.The Data Science Fellow will work with our team to help our clients harness their data to improve and test their outcomes. The Data Science Fellow will work with BlueLabs for 12 weeks from June 3, 2024 - August 23, 2024.
In this position you will:
- Find new and innovative ways to apply new and existing data to our work
- Help expand our Influencers product including identity resolution and network analysis
- Assist in the creation, maintenance and improvement of our internal tools that power things like our polling operations
- Perform rigorous data cleaning and analysis to inform our work across our political, non-profit and corporate projects
What We Are Seeking:
- Genuine passion for working with a progressive social impact organization
- Familiarity with a coding language such as R or Python - SQL is a plus!
- Familiarity with general statistical concepts and best practices
- Interest or experience in creating informative and engaging data visualizations
- Interest or experience in applying foundations of statistics in a work or project setting
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience both in writing and verbally
